Almond Cookies

A simple sugar cookie recipe, reworked to make a delicious dessert, described as “addicting” and “very yummy” with none left at the end of the night.

1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon almond
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups all purpose gluten-free flour

Mix butter and almond, gradually adding sugar then eggs.  Add mixture of tartar, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, and flour.  Blend until smooth.

Drop teaspoons of dough about 3 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.  Bake at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes.  Remove immediately and cool on wire rack.  Makes 4 dozen cookies.
